Ecosystem Restoration in the East Kootenays' Rocky Mountain Trench is essential activity to help reduce catastrophic wildfire risk to protect homes and communities, improve range and wildlife habitat and restore low-intensity stand maintaining fire to the region. Trench ER Partners continue to actively pursue funding to ensure action continues on the ground to meet these objectives.
CBT's Environment Grants have been announced with four projects worth close to a quarter million dollars directly targeting ER activities!
Many thanks to Columbia Basin Trust for their continuing generous support of Ecosystem Restoration as part of their contribution to environmental programs in the region. Over $1 million dollars has been allocated by the Trust in this funding cycle alone!
Congratulations to Marc Trudeau on behalf of the Rocky Mountain Trench Natural Resources Society for securing a total of $154,000 for three projects:
